Frequently Asked Questions

The most common question of all! Unlike regular tattooing, we use methods to minimise discomfort as much as possible. Depending on the treatment, will depend on how it feels to you.
For eyebrows, many find it scratchy at most, but definitely not painful. I often have clients fall asleep!
For lip tattooing, the procedure is a little more uncomfortable, due to the sensitivity of the area, but methods are again used to reduce this as much as possible and make the experience as easy going for you as possible.
For medical tattooing, as per eyebrows, and discomfort is very mild and often unable to feel much at all.
Many of my clients are pleasantly surprised at how little they feel and at most compare to something like threading.
If this is a concern of yours, we invite you to come for a free consultation so we can put your mind at ease :)

For eyebrows, they take around 2 weeks to PHYSICALLY heal. This involves them being quite dark and bold to start, and then soften over the 2 weeks. Sometimes this involves some flaking of the area, especially in Ombre brows. However, it takes 4 weeks to heal inside, and therefore the colour may change over these 2 weeks, even when it feels healed to you.
For lip blush and full lip tint, the lips will be bright and red in tone when first done. They often will be swollen, and this will go down over a couple of days. Upon day 3-5 usually, the lips will chap up, like bad chapped lips, for around a day or so. Once this is over, they are physically healed. However the colour can often be very faded after this stage, and can take up to 3-4 weeks to blossom through and become stronger in colour.
Areola and Scar Camo can take around 2 weeks to heal, similar to eyebrows.

Yes! For over 6 years I worked alongside the great team Brow Design Studio from their Poole & Weymouth Clinics.
After taking some time off for Maternity, and moving a little further afield, I felt it was about time to set up my own little salon in Wareham myself.
I am forever thankful to Brow Design for their support.

If you were a client of mine during my time at Brow Design, you will still be classed as a ‘Colour Boost’.
If you had work done elsewhere, not by me, you would be classed as a ‘New Treatment’.
If you have had work done with other artists from my old studio, you may be able to have a ‘Colour Boost’ not a new treatment. Please message if this is the case to confirm.

Not getting the area excessively wet for prolonged periods of time. If you are concerned, you can use Vaseline to protect them, but only during the time in which it will be exposed to excessive water.
Getting the area dirty - this includes applying make up to the area, using powder based products close by, not cleaning them properly, going to windy and dirty places without adequate care
Swimming - whether in pools or seas, this is both for infection reasons and excessive water.
Exercising in first week - sweating can create excessive wetness, plus we use Saline to remove pigment, and sweat is essentially the same as saline, so it will cause more fading than desired.
Over applying balm - a thin layer of balm is required, if you can see white, the balm is too thick! It just needs to be slightly shiny and comfortable to you.
You will be given an aftercare sheet at initial treatment and full aftercare instructions will be explained to you to ensure you feel 100% on what to expect.

I believe in full transparency at every step. You will see the drawing of the area to be tattooed, for any treatment, and often be shown this drawing multiple times prior to any tattooing. Should you wish to make changes, I fully encourage you to let me know so we can make them exactly as desired.
I also discuss colour choices with you before tattooing to ensure you know exactly what you will end up with. It’s important to note that the colour will ALWAYS be stronger when first done. This is due to the redness that will sit under the tattoo when first done, and that the tattoo typically fades around 30-50% on healing.
If you are ever not sure what is being shown or explained, I encourage you to ask as I’m always happy to explain to ensure you are happy with your end result.

No, I now solely work from my own personal studio in Wareham.
The address is 10a South Street, Wareham, BH20 4LT.
The clinics in Poole & Weymouth were my previous colleagues Brow Design Studio who I am no longer working with.

Unfortunately, we are seeing increasing amounts of cases of people having cosmetic tattooing and ending up dissatisfied with the results.
In some cases, I can help to fix however I usually ask the following questions first:
Do you like the shape in which you had? If no, is it because they are too thick, too long, etc. I can only cover old pigment, so if you wish to make them smaller, it’s unlikely I can do anything without removal first.
Are they too dark? If yes, removal would be needed first.
Are they too blocky and you wish to have hairstrokes? If yes, its likely you would need removal first, or the strokes will just bleed out into the existing pigment.
Are you happy with them, but they have just gone a funky colour? If yes, you may need a colour correction session first. We can correct redness, orangeness, bluey, grey etc. But this can only be covered with a method like ombre, unless extremely faded.
If you have had work done elsewhere previously, even if you are pretty happy with them, I still require a FREE consultation prior to booking to ensure our visions align. I will assess the existing tattoo and discuss what you are looking for and then book in should everything be good to go.
If you are looking for advice in removal, please contact me and I can recommend local removal specialists.
Please note, even if you have had previous work done elsewhere before, it would be classed as a NEW treatment, NOT a colour boost. This is because I would require you to come back in 6 weeks so I can assess how they have healed and make any tweaks if needed.

Any time the skin is broken, whether its Microblading or Machine, no one can ever promise you it will disappear completely.
I’m seeing increasing cases where clients are told that Microblading is SEMI permanent and will disappear within a year. This is simply a false promise. No one can guarantee this, and it is creating a lot of unhappy clients.
Although the colour is designed to fade gradually over time, that pigment will always exist to some degree, even if not largely visible to the eye. This is why its so important to choose the right artist and shape.
We recommend to maintain for colour vibrancy and definition, but if you never colour boosted, the colour would reach a certain level and then likely stay at this point going forward.
If you’ve had them done 3+ years ago, and they don’t seem to be fading anymore, it’s likely they won’t massively change at this point. It may be the colour is too deep, oversaturated or your skin is extremely good at retaining pigment. If you wish for more fading, removal is recommended.
I also emphasise that this is a TATTOO and you should have this done with the expectation to maintain this for years to come, and not with the mindset that if you don’t like it, it will hopefully eventually disappear.

Simple, just have a free consultation! It’s much easier to chat in person about your preferences, desires and expectations, and this will allow me to recommend what I believe is best for you.
I promise to always be 100% honest and I would never recommend something I didn’t genuinely believe was in your best interests.
I vowed to never do anything I didn’t genuinely believe looked good, and if our visions don’t align I simply just don’t do it.
If you feel unsure, just reach out!

This is mostly my personal choice. I personally do not believe that Hairstrokes heal well on those with oily skin. Often they fade out ALOT in the healing process, and even if they make it through that 2 week period, they will fade much quicker and you may require boosts every 6-12 months. For the health of your skin, I try to avoid boosts under a year unless necessary, to avoid overworking the skin.
I often find that the strokes also loose their ‘crispness’ on oilier skin, and therefore don’t really look like hair anymore. Often people end up with what I call an ‘accidental powder brow’, essentially an ombre brow, without the benefit of it lasting as long as an ombre would.
This is purely my opinion as an artist and my experience, but I would often refuse to do hairstrokes on anyone with oily skin or excessive amounts of natural dense hair. In those cases, I would also suggest an ombre brow.

Not at all! One of the biggest misconceptions of Ombre is that it has to be dark and/ or thick. We can do any style of brow in any colour and thickness.
I have done many blonde Ombre brows, many skinny Ombre brows, including on those with no natural hair and those with lots.
Ombre to me is the most flexible style out of all, and in my opinion is the style in which you will get the best results long term even after frequent colour refreshes. It’s why its my favourite!
